Ravenna
Just a few kilometres from Rimini is this historically one of the most important cities in Romagna, thanks to its extremely rich artistic heritage, with no less than eight monuments on the list of the UNESCO World Heritage.
Beautiful basilicas and ancient mausoleums, spectacular mosaics and fascinating curiosities including Dante Alighieri's tomb at the basilica of San Francesco in the city centre.
Saint Leo
A fascinating place rich in history, San Leo is a village perched on a sheer mountainside the valleys of the Marecchia Valley in the hinterland of Romagna. At the top of the town stands the Strong which used to serve as a military fortress in the past, has now been converted into the San Leo Museum.
From the fortress you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama with your gaze opening as far as the sea, for a view of the Romagna hinterland that not everyone knows. Other places of interest include the bell tower and the cathedral, rich in ancient charm.
San Marino
Considered to be the oldest republic in the world, San Marino is a destination not to be missed due to the uniqueness of the place: an independent state perched on Mount Titano with a'ancient history and culture. Since 2008, the historic centre and Mount Titano have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to the history and ancient monuments that can be visited, San Marino is also famous for the shopping, with numerous outlets, shopping centres and craft shops for all tastes.
Cesena
Cesena is an important city of art with a lively historic centre bordered by ancient walls, which are still almost intact today.Among the main attractions worth a visit are the Malatesta Library, Europe's first civic library, and the Bonci Theatre, one of the most popular in Italy. Once a central city under the rule of the Malatesta dynasty, it includes numerous churches and palaces of considerable historical and artistic interest, including the Malatestian Fortress. In the surrounding area, we recommend a visit to the'Benedictine Abbey of Monte.
Milano Marittima
Known as the most elegant and exclusive location of the Riviera Romagnola, brought to light by the renowned nightclubs frequented by celebrities and others, which enliven the Riviera's hot summer nights.
In the centre there are many excellent restaurants, countless boutiques offering high-fashion brands and more. Milano Marittima, however, is not just about nightlife but also offers many services for families with children, including equipped beaches and amusement parks for all requirements.
Cervia and the salt pans
Cervia is a town best known for its salt production. Not to be missed are the salt warehouses, which house the Salt Museum, in an atmospheric setting.
In the city centre are the San Michele Tower, the Cathedral, the Town Hall and Piazza Garibaldi. The old town centre is lively and often animated by markets, concerts and famous events such as the Marriage of the Sea, the Festival of San Lorenzo and the Salt Festival. Nearby is the thousand-year-old pine forest and the thermal baths, a modern facility particularly known for its lagoon mud treatments and the curative water of the Cervia Salt Pans.
